About AbOliGo

AbOliGo, is redefining the way scientists see biology—literally. We are creating cutting-edge antibody-oligonucleotide conjugates (AOCs) that will power the next-generation of spatial and single-cell assays.

We’re on a mission to make high-quality AOCs accessible to every lab—whether through our custom conjugation services, our reagents, or our ready to use panels. By combining deep scientific know-how with smart automation and rigorous QC, we aim to deliver reproducible conjugates at speed and scale. Based at the Babraham Research Campus in Cambridge, we are a team of determined problem-solvers and precision thinkers that believe that better research tools unlock bigger breakthroughs.

As a Scientist you will be working in the laboratory using and supporting the development of our micro-scale antibody-oligo conjugation platform. This is a hands-on laboratory position where you will be expected to follow existing SOPs. You will also be helping to improve and refine existing SOP’s and develop new products and protocols through a combination of experimentation and literature search.

As a small and elite team in the lab, you will be required to perform additional hands-on-work needed to execute and deliver results. This dynamic environment will give you scope and opportunity to be creative and innovative, whilst developing your skills, experience, and career.

What you’ll be responsible for:

  • Hands-On experimental laboratory work to support all aspects of operations, including but not limited to: antibody-oligo conjugation manufacturing, custom conjugation services, and new product development.
  • Comply with Quality procedures including maintenance of a laboratory notebook, meticulous data management and accurate record keeping
  • Assist with department operations as requested (e.g. filing reports, technical documentation, general lab duties, etc)

What we look for in a candidate:

  • Relevant life sciences degree (e.g. Biochemistry, Chemistry, Bioengineering).
  • A minimum of 3 years hands-on wet-lab experience in a commercial laboratory.
  • Extensive experience of purifying and labelling antibodies or proteins.
  • Experience in the design and development of functional assays including ELISA assays.
  • Experience with running and interpreting polyacrylamide gels.
  • Proficient in research data analysis, and interpretation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a laboratory setting.
  • Proficient in Excell, Word and PowerPoint
  • We are a start-up - things change quickly, so you need to be flexible, adaptable and ready to step up and grow with our organisation.
  • You thrive in an environment that expects you to take responsibility, speak up when needed, and hold yourself and others accountable.
  • At times, projects will have tight deadlines, so the successful candidate must be flexible and available to work weekends as project timelines and experimental needs require.
  • You’re curious and open to exploring new ideas, learning from others, and listening to diverse perspectives.

Not essential, but helpful:

  • Experience in molecular biology, especially in PCR and PCR primer design.
  • High throughput screening and data analysis.
  • Chromatography experience (SEC, Ion exchange, affinity purification).
  • Experience with automated liquid handling equipment.

You’ll love this job if you are:

  • Looking to make a difference.
  • Adaptable, Proactive and Organised.
  • Attentive to detail.
  • Team-oriented and enthusiastic about our mission.

Diversity Commitment:

We believe that diversity enables us to see situations from different points of view, leading to ideas and insights which would otherwise be missed. We are focused on building an inclusive team of people of all backgrounds, experiences, abilities, and perspectives.
